Edith's father is an alcoholic and her mother is a toxic person. She isn't allowed to bring friends home and her parents don't care about her other than to cause her pain, mainly via criticisms.
Initial a friend of Mindy, she gets much closer to Julie, as introversion is something she can understand and respect.
How did they become a naturist or what is their relation to naturism?
Edith thinks that naturism is a great idea because she has a very superficial view of the world: there are bad people, and good people.
In her mind, bad people hide, attack, and protect themselves while good people are open and vulnerable.
When she finds out that her friend Mindy is a naturist, she perceives that all naturists are good people because bad people would never show themselves as vulnerable.
Still, because of the body shaming her mother put on her, Edith is unable to be fully nude as a teenager and always keeps a bottom on, and yet, prefers to be with naturists.
She isn't comfortable with clothed naturists and feels like her perception of them being good fades, causing anxiety and panic.
